Understanding Parents’ Journey Through Autism!
Raising a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be an overwhelming experience for parents and families. Tragically there is a tremendous amount of information including the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of ASD. Understandably parents are completely overwhelmed in determining the best course of action and often feel helpless and hopeless!
In this 1-day conference, our speakers, Dr. Ron Leaf and Toby Mountjoy will discuss how to help parents navigate the maze of ASD and share what they have learned during their professional journey in their over 50-year career devoted to ASD. They will also discuss how to best navigate the challenges and focus on how parents can best help their children.
Lorri Unumb, a guest speaker, will share her journey as a mother of two children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As an attorney, author, professor and international autism advocate, she has devoted her career to ensuring access to high-quality care for individuals on the spectrum since her first-born son’s diagnosis with ASD two decades ago.
